Pilar Millán Astray
Pilar Millán Astray (1879-1949), whose brother, José Millán Astray, founded the Legión Española and was a high-ranking official of the Francoist State after the Civil War, was primarily a playwright. She was a conservative and a supporter of the rebels during the war. In fact, she was imprisoned in a Republican women's jail with the female relatives of other high-ranking Nationalists. She contributed a number short novels and short works of theater mainly to La Novela de Hoy and La Farsa.
