Thomas Antorino, Ph.D., is a specialist in the role women writers had in the production and evolution of Spanish kiosk literature in the early twentieth century. In particular, his recent publications have analyzed how women in Spain in the early twentieth century 1) experienced, and by extension wrote about, modernity in gender-specific ways, and 2) navigated through kiosk literature the gendered complexities of a male-dominated culture.
