Carmen de Burgos
Carmen de Burgos (1867-1932) is, without a doubt, the single most prolific female producer of kiosk literature of the early twentieth century. 77 of her works were published in numerous collections, and she is perhaps the only writer who produced works for collections of different cities. Her biography is readily available on other websites, and her literature is the subject of many works of scholarship, so there is little need to elaborate on it here. Suffice it to say the sheer quantity of works and the range of themes dealt with in these texts make Burgos's oeuvre one of the most appealing to scholars.
