Read & Roam: Saint John’s Bible with Archives & Special Collections

Join LNDL Archives & Special Collections to learn about the Library’s Heritage edition of the Saint John’s Bible! Turn the pages of this extraordinary work and engage with artifacts from the Archives’ medieval manuscript collection to see how the Saint John’s Bible unites ancient Benedictine tradition with modern technology and knowledge.

Explore LNDL’s virtual reality meditation experiences. 

Create-A-Critter  

4/30, 5-7 pm, IDEA Space & Lab B 
Make a stuffed animal and decorate with accessories! Each participant receives 1 stuffed animal to create and decorate. Registration required and limited to Loyola University of Maryland and Notre Dame of Maryland University students. Capped at 25 participants.  

Reading Is Creative: Graduation Cap Decorating Session 1

5/1, 4-6 pm, IDEA Space  
Graduating this semester? Drop in between 4 and 6 to decorate your graduation cap with supplies from the Messy Cart! Feel free to bring your own supplies, too. 

Zen Joy Tea, Snacks, & Crafts  

5/1, 3-6 pm, Learning Lobby & Gallery 
Parkhurst will provide snacks and organize tabling from ZenJoy Tea, a company that provides teas created for stress and anxiety relief. Parkhurst will also provide de-stressing activities, such as food-related coloring books and DIY stress balls. 

Peace Meadow Nature Walk 


5/2, 1:30-2 pm, Meet in Learning Lobby near NDMU side entrance  
Take a walk through the Peace Meadow on campus and learn about native plant species and wildlife with Michelle Williams, LNDL’s Access Services Operations Supervisor. Michelle is a committed environmental steward and a certified Weed Warrior with Baltimore City. 

Reading is Innovative: Sublimation Notebooks 

5/2, 4 pm – 5:30 pm, LNDL IDEA Space  
Learn about the science behind sublimation with a dry ice demonstration, then customize a notebook cover with a photo or drawing with the help of the sublimation printer and heat press in the Innovation Station. All materials provided! This class is capped at 10 students.

Zine Zone 

Collage materials will be available to create zines or collages onsite at the library.   

Crafts, Games, and Activities Table  

The first floor of the library will feature crafts and activities such as origami kits, Lego kits, Magna-Tiles, Jenga, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, etc.  

Video Game Station  

A video game station will be set up on the first floor of the library.  

Snack Station  

Tea, fruit, granola bars, and candy will be available near the Help Desk
