The Randallstown Public Library is located in Randallstown, MD. African Americans make up 79.8 percent of Randallstown's population, while the overall U.S. African-American population is only at 12.3 percent (1). This makes Randallstown a unique community. At the library we worked with Brenda Perkins, who heads the teen programs, including the Dreamers of Tomorrow book club. Ms. Perkins says that teens use the library more than patrons of other age groups, and they most often come here to use the computers and do school work, as well as attend many after-school and evening teen programs. The library also has programs for adults and young children.
